Maria is an accredited psychotherapist and counsellor, with almost two decades’ experience working in private practice in Kildare and also providing online counselling. Her approach is primarily humanistic and integrative, drawing upon various psychotherapeutic models, including person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), according to the individual needs of her clients. Maria’s area of special interest is eating disorders and related difficulties around food, diet, emotional eating and body image. Much of her work over the past number of years has been focused on this complex issue. Her outside interests include genealogy, drumming, walking, gardening, and avidly supporting Leinster Rugby as a committed Season Ticket Holder! Her previous careers included merchant banking and working for a charitable organisation.
